The Directorate for Learning and Assessment Programmes is launching the STEM to GOZO initiative. The initiative targets all students currently in Years 3 to 6 and aims to engage them in exploring STEM themes around Gozo through the use of language and folklore.
Students can participate in one of two categories according to their year group, namely:
Category 1 for students in Year 3 and Year 4.
Category 2 for students in Year 5 and Year 6.
The STEM to GOZO initiative is spread over a three-week period spanning from Monday 20th July to Sunday 9th August 2020. All details are listed in the Guidelines and Regulations document attached to this Letter Circular.
Interested student applicants can register their participation by accessing the icon above. Registration deadline is Friday 17th July 2020.
All submitted work will be adjudicated by a panel of professionals in relation to the following criteria:
- Content and relevance to task;
- Use of language and overall quality work;
- Integration of elements of STEM in the final product;
- Creativity and presentation.
Three students, from each category, with the best overall submissions, will receive a family voucher (2 adults and 2 children) for the Gozo Pony Walking Experience. Awards are co-sponsored by the HSBC Malta Foundation.
