Family Coding at the Library

The Directorate for Digital Literacy and Transversal Skills is once again launching the Family
Coding initiative in collaboration with the Malta Libraries. Parents/Guardians are invited to
participate in FREE coding sessions together with their children (age 8 – 11). During the workshop, which will take at the Central Library, Floriana, adults will be assisted by their children to help discover ways in which they can learn to code through play! Participants will experience an educational family-oriented session introducing computational thinking concepts through hands-on activities involving amongst others, the use of the OTPC tablet. The scope of these family-focused workshops is to introduce parents to coding concepts which may be alien to adults. During the workshop, adults will be assisted by their children whilst learning how
to create an interactive story.

The sessions are free, but space is limited, so please sign up today! You’ll be coding with your kids in no time! Register for a session: http://bit.ly/familycoding. The Directorate for Digital Literacy and Transversal Skills is also inviting volunteers who would like to help with the organisation and delivery of such coding sessions for adults and children. Training and resources will be provided. Interested adults can apply via http://tinyurl.com/coachcode
